PREMIERE : Zakir - Whirligig (Kincaid's Twirlywig Remix) [Sol Selectas] by Gouranga

Sol Selectas welcomes back Russian artist Zakir who has also compiled tracks and remixes for Exotic Refreshment, Akbal Music and Nazca.

UK based Kincaid has been a regular feature on Sol Selectas along with also working with other imprints such as Disco Halal, Anjunadeep, Chapter 24 Records and Nie Wieder Schlafen.

Zakir’s two original songs are inspired by his daughter Yasmin, who was always playing with her toys in the background, while he produced the tracks in his home studio. The playful sounds of those toys appear in both songs, giving this EP a deeply personal meaning.

Kincaid closes the release with his mind bending Twirlygig remix of "Whirligig". He slows the tempo down and concentrates on the acid-lines, building up the tension to a point of near insanity, and then brings it all back down to earth with a smooth downbeat groove.

The artwork by Helia Jamali shows the playful nature of the music, woven into the fabric of our galactic cosmos.
