Fannie Lou Hamer, 1970 by Goucher College

Fannie Lou Hamer (1917-1977)was a Civil Rights activist from Mississippi. She worked for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) that fought racial segregation and injustice in the South, as well as championing voter registration among African Americans. In 1964, she helped found the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. This is a talk she gave at Goucher College in 1970.
