Overclocked by gorgorgathgorgorgor published on 2022-01-21T16:08:07Z My robot composer is a bit worked up for some reason, and he's overheated a bit! at least he's made something interesting to listen to. Composed and mixed entirely in VCV Rack 2. My primary oscillators are all from Instruo. Genre Electronic Comment by Kyle Benjamin This track is all over the place, yet it still makes sense. Reminds me of early Aphex Twin. 2022-02-16T01:37:45Z Comment by Kyle Benjamin The sorta random/computer sound in here totally works. 2022-02-16T01:37:20Z Comment by Kyle Benjamin Bless you for working with VCV Rack (2, no less). The possibilities are so endless that it hurts my brain. 2022-02-16T01:36:28Z Comment by Liqih nice contrast of dreamy echoes with loud chirps 2022-02-14T21:12:06Z Comment by Impedance Music No wonder your robot overheated - He has done an amazing job with these Soundexperiments :D 2022-02-14T20:58:03Z Comment by ] Peter H [ It's interesting - if once expectation to listen to yet another iteration of "stuff you already know" is not meet ... anyway - Art is not to repeat what everybody else does. Kudos for your own way! 2022-02-14T19:38:43Z Comment by TapTapDoubleTap I find your stuff really hard to score as part of a contest because I admire the commitment to your robot composer and I think you make some great sounds, but I find it hard to listen to. It feels like this would be brilliant to do as some sort of interactive installation. 2022-02-14T14:49:29Z Comment by Robert Chavez Cool sounds in this track. The artwork is interesting, it looks like a giant chicken head with alien DNA emerging from a cityscape. 2022-02-14T02:13:55Z Comment by Spring Goose It's a bit very loud in places, but overall it's a thoroughly enjoyable IDM song. 2022-02-13T19:28:03Z Comment by Spring Goose Fun and interesting. 2022-02-13T19:24:50Z Comment by DoctorBob You have managed to get a lot of sounds and elements to work together ... maybe mix the motifs more in and out of the mix??? 2022-02-10T20:12:19Z Comment by DoctorBob Another classic VCV rack experiment! I would guess that the track can get a little long for most with it feeling like less variation is happening ... 2022-02-10T20:11:37Z Comment by Milkster very nice vcv sounds, good robot just needs a bigger heatsink! 2022-02-10T12:55:08Z Comment by MyLoFy But seriously, very cool sound experiment 2022-02-09T18:26:47Z Comment by MyLoFy dude, feed your robot some oil, he's out of control! 2022-02-09T18:26:34Z Comment by SP I certainly applaud experimentation. Good work. 2022-02-09T15:56:35Z Comment by Immanencer Lately I've been thinking about having another go at Reaktor Blocks but haven't been sure what can be done with it. This gives me some ideas! You've done quite an exploration with it. 2022-02-08T10:49:30Z Comment by FrankH Yes, one of my favs so far this month; good luck 2022-02-07T08:13:55Z Comment by FrankH I like the bleeps and bloops 2022-02-07T08:11:33Z Comment by jemAudio Like the sounds pretty much. Very funny your comment about the robot composer. I was thinking of something similar before reading your track description. 2022-02-05T00:39:24Z Comment by Kraftraum I would describe the sounds as class. I find the composition a bit exhausting on the ear, even if the melody line sounds very nice in the background. I think you've created a unique track again :) Good luck in the challenge:) 2022-02-04T19:02:29Z Comment by Kraftraum Hell, a out of line robot did this section? 2022-02-04T18:59:34Z Comment by Kraftraum Nice, nice ... well done delay work:) 2022-02-04T18:58:12Z Comment by treeheated Interesting indeed! It tends to sound rambly and randomy and every now and then it starts to sound a bit deliberate and it's basically impossible to tell whether you programmed it that way or the notes just lined up in a certain way and my mind attributed something to it. If it were me, I might have made a more steady drum beat or something, to nudge it slightly in the sounds-deliberate direction, but it's a taste thing. (I recall from the VCV month that one of the popular rhythm sequences could set a probability for each trigger, so you could do some standard rhythm, but with a chance of skipping a kick, or having an extra one on the off beat here and there, etc.) 2022-02-04T15:24:05Z Comment by Twins Of Messaline Very fun and interesting track! I still have yet to check out generative music, but your VCV tracks have made me very interested! There is a cohesion to the "chaos" that I really like. 2022-02-03T17:42:19Z Comment by TrojakEW What I do really like is artwork for the track. 2022-02-03T10:46:39Z Comment by TrojakEW As experiment I approve it. But as music, I have hard time. :) 2022-02-03T10:45:49Z Comment by TrojakEW Controlled chaos? 2022-02-03T10:45:01Z Comment by SeBaer you say 'something interesting'? You know 'interesting' could be use as a euphemism, don't you? XD 2022-02-02T22:34:09Z Comment by SeBaer an almost calm moment 2022-02-02T22:32:55Z
