Gols comes from a time when nights were built on records, not algorithms. Raised in Aalst’s early house scene of the 1990s, his sound was shaped in small rooms, long nights, and a deep respect for vinyl culture.
From 2002 to 2007, he was part of the heartbeat of Sluierstraat, holding residencies at Dance Vibes, Chemistry, and The Factory. Those nights were about trust, community, and letting records speak. A period when clubs felt like shared living rooms and the dancefloor moved as one.
After stepping away from The Factory, Gols followed a quieter path, drifting through collectives and families such as Sweet Trade, Ojoo, Echoes, and Hoot, refining his language and expanding his palette without noise or urgency.
His approach is subtle and restrained. Drawn to depth rather than spectacle, Gols plays with care and intention, guided by feeling, texture, and timing. Vinyl remains central not as nostalgia, but as a way of listening.
Alongside DJing, he runs Hoot, a small imprint rooted in patience and curiosity. The upcoming Hoot004 release revisits forgotten DAT recordings from the early 90s. A compilation of archival work by Olivier Abbeloos, reflecting the fertile and exploratory club culture of Belgium’s formative house years. The record is set for release in late February 2026.
Always searching, always learning, Gols remains a student of the dancefloor, present, attentive, and quietly devoted.
