Portland's Mitchell Hanson aka DJ Vize is regarded as the Pacific NW's most prolific nuskool breakbeat artist, and one of the top breakbeat dj's/artists in the USA. His combination of dj skills, successful vinyl releases and remixes, and mind-blowing synthesizer chops set him far apart from the masses. Classically trained in nearly every orchestral instrument, and well-versed in music theory and composition, he has been playing and writing music for nearly all of his life.
Vize has steadily built a discography of critically-acclaimed vinyl releases on respected domestic and import breaks labels, including: Oven Fresh Records, DJ Spice’s Version 3.0 Records, Top Caliber Records, Born Idle Records, as well as his own Vizion Music imprint. His tracks have received major support from Krafty Kuts, Jay Cunning, General Midi, BLIM, Stereo 8, Capoeria Twins, Bass Kleph, Vlad Sokolov, J-Bass, Angus Robinson, Madame Mercury, DJ Moon, and the list goes on. His releases "Hustlin' Music," "Acid Zapp" and "Jammin' Ya Tekz" helped Orlando, Florida's Oven Fresh Records grow to one of the top new domestic breaks labels, with JYT charting in the Beatport Top 10 within days of release.
Vize has proven himself as a performer during his seven-plus years behind the decks and keys. He has appeared at major venues from Vancouver BC to Las Vegas to Orlando and a wide variety of places in-between. His dj sets and original tracks have been featured multiple times on Portland's KNRK 94.7FM and Seattle's C89.5FM, as well as internet radio shows such as iBreaks.co.uk, BreaksFM, Nuskoolbreaks.co.uk, Proton Radio. His music has also appeared on the Annie Nightingale Show on BBC Radio1, being named a 2009 "Mover and Shaker in Breakbeat" by Annie.
Combine this with a powerfully energetic synth-driven, keyboard-skills-flexin’ Live PA and you have one of the USA’s most dynamic young breakbeat artists!
Look for more Live PA keyboard action from Vize in 2009. Also growing will be his "Homeless Panda" project with Anton Loshe, including the successful Electro vs. Breaks event series. More original track and remixes, including the release of "This Is Whoa" on Televisionary Records, and "Every Street Corner" on 13Breakz will be slated for late summer!
