"We're a humanitarian organisation," Gunness said in an interview with UN Radio. "Our main focus is our humanitarian work to help the sick, the needy, the dying". UNRWA's food distribution centres and primary health clinics in the besieged coastal enclave would be kept open, Gunness said. He added that in densely populated Gaza, the ongoing violence was having a severe impact on civilians - 54 per cent of whom are children.
