DAWN CHORUS: from the very first call! 29min recording. by Peter Toll published on 2012-03-27T13:41:11Z Thought it would be nice to upload a half hour recording of the dawn chorus from the very start, so the listener can really soak up the atmosphere and the sounds of spring, here in the UK. Two dpa mics in a tree, recording from around 4:30am on the24h March 2012 (day before clocks moved to summer time). Beginning with the very first voice of a blackbird. Around 14 mins in to the piece, it starts to get busy as more & more voices begin to join in. There are many different birds calling towards the end, finishing with the ratter tat, tat of a Magpie. 2x dpa 4060 microphones to a Edirol R4 pro recorder. To all those fellow sound recordists out there: Yes a coat hanger was used in the making of this recording! :) Sit back and relax, hope you enjoy. Peace:) Ps.
