Sanctum (Explicit) by The Weekend Effect

We started recording this at the beginning of January, using the equipment we had in our bedrooms. After making a demo, we decided to record in a small studio. With all the recordings done, it was then a 4 week mixing and mastering process. Finally we came up with this; we hope you like it, and please comment!

Have you ever felt like your life’s been spiralling down,
And no matter how hard you try you have to watch it drown.

Cos there’s no words to explain all this shit that I’m feeling

The strings of my heart, It’s like a broken guitar,
an’ I’m missin’ my heartbeat, feelin’ happiness is so far away.
Come find me in this pit, I’m down here with the pieces
Of my broken soul, but remember I can’t get out the creases

I may have done some things I regret in my time,
But I can’t shake this feeling that this karma ain’t mine.
I try to think, when life gives you lemons,
you keep your up head high and wash off that bitter venom.
But all shit that doesn’t kill me, just grows even stronger,
Like a cancer of your spirit waiting until you can’t fight any longer.
And you’ll wake up to a hang man and his noose,
Giving you the opportunity from this life to cut you lose.
You keep up your bluff, tell them your fine
You don’t want anyone to know you are capable of feelings inside.
But you’re lonely in your little world built from hurt,
You walk through the streets but the houses turn to dirt.
You try to rebuild but they’re lost to the rain,
Fuelled into frenzy by feeding from your pain
Your resolve starts to fade; your back bone is breaking,
