Stop/Run:Dublin 12-12-10 by Stop/Run published on 2010-12-20T16:20:42Z Stop/Run was a concert and installation consisting of an ensemble of experimental sculptural instruments built by Ed Devane. Seven composers were asked to write pieces using the instruments in whatever way they wished for the opening of the exhibition, and these are the resultant recordings. A wide range of approaches were used by the composers - graphic notation, video compositions, free improvisation and software processing. Thanks to Keith Lindsay and Ronan McCall at Severed Head for asking me to host something in their gallery, to the composers for putting up with my constantly changing plans, to Fionn Wallace for performing where needed in different pieces at the opening, to Tom O'Dea for helping with wiring the electronics, and to Steve Collins for driving all my gear from the workshop to the gallery and back in the snow.
