The founding fathers of Spiral Arm began their collaboration back in 2004 after Matt was injured on his bicycle in a hit and run accident which left him wheelchair bound for several months.  In this time of healing, unable to work his regular job as an art handler, he instead focused his efforts on refining his music and programming skills and invited Duncan to join him in his creative endeavors. Matt recovered, years passed, bands were formed and much music was created.  Some of this music was bound for albums, but much of it rested quietly after its creation... Through the years Duncan became very familiar with the marriage of music and video through his day job as a television editor and he suggested that Spiral Arm make all those songs available to creative professionals working with video... Spiral Arm was born.   

Matt and Duncan then enlisted the talents of Alan, who had engineered an album for Matt and Duncan's band, to join forces with Spiral Arm.  Alan, who's broad skill set includes web development, programming, design, audio engineering and, of course, music composition, also had a large collection of music that was resting quietly which has since been integrated into Spiral Arm's growing library.  

Over the years, In addition to giving the songs already in our library a purpose, we've also had the opportunity to write music specifically for projects in production. Our music has now been used in a variety of video projects ranging from commercials and theme songs to tv shows, animations and short films... And, we are looking forward to the prospect of providing music for your project!
