The musical voyage of Dominic Martin alias Snork started in the early nineties when he was 13 years old. At that time he started experiencing trumpet and drums in various rock bands.
At the beginning of the year 2000, Dominic made a major change in his musical orientation by going into electronic music. Snork is the nickname he adopted for his producing projects, and the pseudonym Kataleptic for his performances as a DJ. He has made many public appearances in Ambient, IDM and Hardcore.
He quit djing in 2000 to work on his snork project to eventually perform his compositions live. He has been concentrating in different musical spectrums that range from Techno to Break to Minimal. The Montreal public has seen him performed at various events such as:Mutek, Piknic Electronik, IN Da Jungle and FFWD. It’s during the summer of 2009 that he joined the collective Noerg.
His first EP, Coccinelle, was released on the label Pertin_nce in July, 2008, winning him praise from the German blog www.magagin.de/checks/253. His first album, Bedroom Works (Algorithm Records), an astucious blend of downtempo and experimental sonorities, follows up in March 2009 and is available on iTunes for digital download. His latest Algorithm release, an EP titled Contact (December, 2009) draws further attention on him as it is critically acclaimed in Montreal's weekly Voir mag (January 21st, 2010). Since then, he continues to produce new varieties of techno and downtempo with touches of break and IDM, an unusual set of ingredients he's getting more and more used to mix in an far-fetched yet clever audio recipe."
