Extra Life - Splayed Flesh Remix EP by Sockets Records published on 2010-09-14T04:26:35Z Extra Life is a Brooklyn-based band led by Charlie Looker, who spent six years in ZS and a short stint in the Dirty Projectors. With Extra Life, Looker explores the depths of experimental music, mixing various chamber, prog, and post-hardcore styles. The bands first album, Secular Works, was released in 2008 by Planaria Recordings and garnered some attention from Stereogum’s Bands to Watch column. Their second album, entitled Made Flesh, is out now on LOAF Recordings. Sockets Records released an Extra Life remix EP, entitled Splayed Flesh, in June 2010. The remix EP features re-works by Tyondai Braxton (of Battles), Caley Monahon-Ward, JG Thirlwell (of Foetus!), and Justin K. Broadrick (of Godflesh!!!). Genre Chamber+electronics
