I was watching Medabots, then paused it to do something else. It was then that I imagined an awesome side scrolling hack and slash game where the protagonist has been training with various improvised melee weapons in his school. Everybody keeps telling him that everybody uses guns these days. Then one day a supernatural enemy invades the school, blocking off the roads and phone lines. There are no guns. The protagonist grabs a nearby folding chair and gets to work.

But the important thing is that I imagined the soundtrack that would go with all this action, and this is what would play in the opening level just as the action gets started.
