Queen Plz Queen Plz Durham, NC Queen Plz is a scientist, a feminist, and a dirty south enthusiast born and raised in Atlanta and currently based in Durham NC. Her continually evolving musical palette and her drive to create space for diversity in the electronic music underground led her to found seminal Durham monthly Party Illegal in 2013. Her art is inseparable from her politics, and her DJ sets will take you on a meandering journey from the rapid fire of the New York ballroom scene to the slow southern drawl of UGK. She is fascinated by rhythmic complexity and the moments of accidental brilliance that arise from exploratory play. Queen Plz has been djing for almost a decade, and has opened for Jubilee, Le1f, Mykki Blanco, TT the Artist, Mighty Mark, Uniiqu3, and a host of other brilliant local artists. Her mixtape "First Amendment Area" is a winner of the "Bull City in The Mix" local mixtape competition.
