Producer Damage

Firstly, all praise and thanks be to God for blessing me with the gift of music and my talents, thanks to my mum for her support which she has given me through the years and my friends which always push me to new levels.

My name is DeVante and I have been producing music for approximately 7 years. It started on my 12th birthday when my mum got me my first phone (T610) this had Sony Ericson beat maker. I fiddled around with it and found what went good together and learnt what a bpm was. My uncle then bought me music 2000 for the ps1 and I continued the same, eventually it got to a point where i had made every beat i could using the software and i wanted to make fresh ideas from my head. I found fruity loops 3.4 on limewire and quickly learnt how to use it and construct an instrumental.

My friends and I would always form cyphers and freestyle, we got a name for ourselves and this led us to a few studios and collaborations however we would always use a popular instrumental, it got to the point where we wanted to create our own style of music and be different from he rest, I began to take the role of producer within my team and sold unique grime beats for about £5 each in school. As I got better over the years, the price for my instrumentals went up, prices was <£50 each, unfortunately the demand for exclusive instrumentals went down along with the trend of local lyrisists, fortunately my music production continued right through to today although there has been times where i have taken breaks. I am taking my music more seriously as I strongly believe i am one of the best producers in my age group and i see a future in it.
