Hi, finally got my act together to put some stuff on Soundcloud.
By way of brief introduction, I've been making music, mainly electronic since the mid-70's. Mainly based in Melbourne Australia.
( if you want to "learn" more, check out the highly dodgy wiki entry*note to self-change it!*)
I was at the beginnings of the punk scene here as well as the techno scene, which was a joy, the latter more than the former.
I started a label, Psy Harmonics in the early days of the trance techno rave whatever... scene here in Australia, but I quit that label some years back now.
These days I make music for the same reasons I always have, that is, I want to hear it!
As far as releasing stuff goes, I did a couple of CD's for a Greek label called Creative Space a few years back, Simulated & I AM the Server.
Also released a few things digitally, but not for sometime.
The most recent activity of a commercial nature was scoring the soundtrack for the Australian Horror Film " The Loved Ones".
I think that score will be released fairly soon on cd and also digitally.
I am very pleased with the release as I really loved making a large piece out of the various cues I created for the film.
I hope some of you will check it out when its released : )
I also did a remix for Brian Burger recently that has been released via the Machine Label (A new imprint from my old partner Andrew Till)
There is a wonderful band in Ireland called The Last Sound, I was lucky enough to do a remix of them as well, which I gather will be available
I'm planning a slew of releases in this next year, all kinds of stuff under various guises, some of which I will give you tasters of here.
I am not a fan of genres as such , let's just say I make Electronic Music.
I find genres limiting, although I do understand the need for people to have mental map, a safe place in a somewhat scary reality.
But if one opens oneself up ...ANYTHING is possible.
Rarely Dj in the "real world", however, I do play on a regular basis in virtual worlds, which is fun and the hours suit me, plus I can play
to nice people across the globe in a nice and sexy animated fashion.
I am "un-signed" as such at the moment.
If you like my music, I can do a snappy high production version...but I tend to sketch ideas out mostly, fast as possible. If there is a reason
to make it "high-end". I call in the experts as I am truly deaf in one ear ( not through music, I have been born this way) so please bear in mind
that if my mixes sound odd, its because I am "au-naturally mono" so to speak.
I'm really impressed with Soundcloud, I can't believe how long it took me to have a good look at it.
Thanks for reading and listening : )
btw, its so damn interesting to see music becoming something else all over again, not quite sure what it's place is right now, but its truly interesting.
Let's just keep chipping away and see what the zeitgeist presents us with.
I still feel it coming, I think its around about......*****here****
