@Adam Michael Palmaymesa: The drum are same but I think it's a traditional Brazilian rythm. I don't think Paul Simon actually came up with it. Either way great song and with a lot going on in it.

rhythm of the saints, paul simon. I've noticed the vampire weekend actually take a looott of paul simon inspiration. On one of their hit songs the melody feels very rhythm of the saintsy too
