MO~DU Jan Jiskra Prague Jan Jiskra's first experiments with electronic music date back to 2001. Until then, in his teenage years, he focused solely on acoustic instruments (violin, recorder, guitar). He currently lives & composes in his studio in Prague, working with synthesizers, sequencers, drum machines, and a variety of other electronic sound generators. In addition to that, Jan is also a collector of electronic musical instruments of all kinds. Thanks to his passion for electronic instruments and music, a number of recordings published in various formats have been produced - several cassette tapes, LP, 7 inch and DIY CDs in strictly limited editions. These were composed in various styles under different aliases – mostly known as @Moduretik or @neden_cz. Between 2008 and 2013, he performed a chain of stage concerts in several countries – Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, UK, Slovakia. Recently in 2016, he created a new project called MO-DU, which focuses on the legacy of "Berlin school of electronic music" and explores the potential of modular synthetizers. MO-DU involves both off-stage composing and occasional live performances. Since 2014, his music has been released via his own independent low-cost label Mata-Mata Records.
