Michael McKenna (Keep Schtum)

Michael started DJing back in the early 90's. Since then he has been playing in Clubs, Bars, Boats, Basements, Penthouses, Tents and Warehouses all over Dublin and Ireland, with the occasional jaunt across the water to the U.K. and Europe.

However, since 2008, Michael is probably best known by his 'Keep Schtum' pseudonym. With a few thousand followers on Soundcloud, his hugely popular disco re-edits have been getting support from DJ's worldwide, including the likes of Greg Wilson and DJ Harvey.

Keep Schtum's re edit of 'Hang Together' by Odyssey has become a widely played Disco classic, and the re edit of 'Do It Any Way Yo Wanna' by People's Choice got the stamp of approval by Gamble and Huff themselves. It was included in the 'Philadelphia International: The Re-Edits' Album released on on Harmless Records. Having just had another recent, well received, Vinyl Only release ('We Love Big Lights' on Tribute Records), he now has a busy few months ahead of him with a number of Vinyl and Digital releases due.
Michael has a few monthly residencies around Dublin and you can find him DJing there most weekends. Over the Summer he'll also be playing in Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Manchester, Geneva, and Berlin, with October gigs in New York and L.A. tbc.
