John Tree

They say to succeed in music you should specialise. These tunes are the fruits of my disparate forays into writing music, and they are anything but specialised...unless you count being true to a creative instinct.
You will find the whimsical and the dark, experimental edits of (very) old tunes and remixes of new ones, easy listening and ambient noise.
If you like what you hear, you can follow me, leave comments, or even buy tunes with the Bandcamp link.
There are some free downloads available too.
JOHN TREE'S BIOG
Too old to be cool (not that I ever was), I do things for the love these days.
Stood down as director of Blackpool Promoting Music (BPM: 2007-10) to spend more time with my music.
PERCUSSIONIST'S FEZ
Mesmerised by music from childhood, but put off by a terrible music teacher decided to teach myself drumming aged eighteen, becoming a serial jammer.
Currently percussionist for:
POCO LOCO Blackpool School of Samba. I'm chairman and caixa player at this long established community band
BLOWJANGLES: Legendary and colourful all-brass-and-percussion anarchic street/festival band
Solo work inflicted under the name John Tree
From a random jam, to long term long term percussion with:
Omar Puente, Jan Kopinski, The Ceramic Hobs, Jam Factory, The BOF Band, Willard & HBT, Red Kite on the Wyre, Bodies Talking, Tramtown Junction, Pinski Zoo, Poco Loco, Sax Pests, Blowjangles, Undercover Acoustic, Heffalump Trap, Spiral Scouts, Tom Morley (Scritti Politti).

PROMOTER'S HELMET
It has been my privilege to be the main organiser for The Perfumed Garden stage at the award winning BeatHerder Festival near Pendle Hill. The stage has had numerous names over the years including:
The Yurt Reynolds (2009)
The Recovery Room (2008, 2010)
The Perfumed Garden (since 2011)
...and it provides a wonderful atmospheric platform for both emerging and well established, local and international artists and DJs.
