1. Munk ‘Rue de Rome (Cécile remix)’
“Cécile has been one of my favorite producers for a couple of years. An accomplished musician with a vibrant vision and second–to-none inspirations, anything he does is worth getting hold of. Of epic proportions, his sublime rework of ‘Rue De Rome’ was perfect to start the mix with.”
2. Golden Bug ‘Sex Beat’
“A French producer relocated in Barcelona who keeps on getting better and better. And a breakdown you can’t resist wiggling to.”
3. Erodiscotique ‘A Reason For Living (Freestyle edit)’
“I used to know Dimitri From Paris when he was dj on French FM station NRJ. Back in the days there was only a few of us into house music in Paris. There were those into the NYC/Chicago schools (which he was) and those more into the Manchester/Balearic spirit where you’d mix all kind of tracks (which I was). Surely this is an homage to the Latin Rascals who - only armed with tape, blade and scissors then - did the craziest edits ever. Go get some old Cutting 12”s if you don’t know of this unique Latin hip-hop label.”
4. Munk ‘Keep My Secret’
“I looove Munk’s new album! Exactly what I’m into at the moment. Dancey yet vocal-led, songy, poppy, melodic and charmingly D.I.Y. ‘Keep My Secret’ has to be my fave, I just can’t get enough of it. We want more!”
5. Golden Bug ft Onili ‘Flamingo (Jerry Bouthier edit)’
“Funk with a capital F, Golden Bug oozes French quality. ‘Flamingo’ is unusual because the vocal delivery is so in your face, while the track is on a feelgood boogie tip. I had to do my own version to see if I could make it any poppier.”
6. Munk ‘Violent Love (The Twelves remix-Jerry Bouthier edit)’
“Like many I’m a big fan of The Twelves, these guys are in a league of their own. Their remix of ‘Violent Love’ was first class, yet I tried to peps it up a bit and got really lucky as despite having no access to the tracks/stems, the edit turned out really well with some perilous twists and turns that give the song that extra boost.”
7. Moullinex ‘Chocolat’ + Golden Bug ‘U Are Magic’
“Another fine producer in the Gomma stable, Moullinex is a talented Portuguese who combines French touch, house, disco, funk, pop in one effortless spell. For some reason Golden Bug’s ‘U Are Magic’ seemed to sit rather well on top of ‘Chocolate’.”
8. Golden Bug ‘Look Look Look (In Flagranti remix-Jerry Bouthier edit)’
“Who doesn’t love In Flagranti? It’s a number of years now that the duo’s edits and sample-based tunes have conquered a wide range of djs. No wonder their take on dance music is truly personal and more often than not a winner on the dancefloor. I’ve taken the habit of recalibrating them for my own personal needs. Here is a good example, tighter, shorter and more to the point while retaining that old-school dj flavour.”
9. The Phenomenal Handclap Band ‘15 to 20 (Den Haan remix)’
“I’ve recently caught live for the first time the brilliant Den Haan. They were playing before me at Razzmatazz in Barcelona and I fell in love with their hi-nrgized electrodisco and deadpan stage show. These guys are passionate, skilled and… hilarious. No wonder, they’re from Glasgow.”

“Spearheading the piano revival by a couple of years this tasty Cut Copy remix has not left my box since. I mean you can’t go wrong when you throw a bit of proggy acid and italo house in the pot. Makes me think of The Haçienda.”
11.The Glimmers ‘U Rocked My World (Pete Herbert & Tristan da Cunha remix-Jerry Bouthier edit)’
“It’s quite impressive how Gomma has ended up gathering all these fairly big and definitely influential djs/producers from all over. The label’s almost become a haven for likeminded souls who defend a certain conception of dance music that’s not crass nor cheap but on the contrary full of life, ideas and future.”

“Another Gomma discovery. This French producer doesn’t really sound like anyone else. I’ve only slightly reshaped it but I think it was worth it.”
13.Munk ‘Down In L.A. (Shazam remix)’
“This is such a classic by now. The best Shazam remix ever as far as I’m concerned. The vocal delivery is great to start with, and then he’s added that fab bass, bouncy groove and numerous funky synthlines. Amazing how such a young dude can sound so 80s.”
14.The Phenomenal Handclap Band ‘Baby (Clock Opera remix)’
“A perfect example of a band who sounds even better remixed. I mean they’re great to start with but this reinterpretation takes ‘Baby’ to another level, a sublime remix from London’s Clock Opera.”
15.Golden Bug ‘Sex Beat (Mustang remix instrumental)’
“I like the way the productions of Belgian duo Mustang are fuelled by italo-disco and yet work so well in big rooms. They’re getting inspired by the past but look at the present, adapt to the way clubs are now. Revivals can only last that long… you have to build something for the future, not just recreate the past.”
16.Mercury ‘Inner City Chase’
“This is how techno should be done in my opinion. Relentlessly funky, a bit foolish and entertaining nonetheless… Copes well with being heavily pitched down in tempo too. I’ve always loved records that have blasting sirens in them. One of the oldest tricks in the book… always works.”
17.Telonius ‘Disco-Tec (Moullinex remix)’
“A genius moment from the man Luis. He’s really nailed it on this lush rework that makes you feel you’re in a beautiful slightly dramatic dream until the pneumatic beat slams back, wow.”
18.Diskokaine ‘Hall of Shame (THC remix-Jerry Bouthier edit)’
“The version I did on the edits EP was done after I completed the dj mix, it’s worth checking out as it pushes things that bit further, builds intensity, counts several starts and stops based around the lead line… I’ve been pestering Wolfram for music since he launched his Diskokaine label a good few years ago. The way he puts his heart into things without taking himself seriously is stimulating.”
19.Rodion ‘Alagoas Cowboys’
“Although I knew the tune, I first heard this out played by Vito Aeroplane and was struck by this haunting melody unlike anything you’d usually hear in a club, a graceful moment. It’s important to have djs stick to their guns and play what they believe in no matter what the crowd expects.”
20.Munk ‘We Don’t Care’
“Another ace extract from ‘The Bird And The Beat’ album, this almost folky song is tailored to singalong to at beach camp, a vigorous antidote to depression.”
21.The Phenomenal Handclap Band ‘All Of The Above (T.H. White remix)’
“A bit of psychedelia never does any harm. Another far out rendition of a Phenomenal Handclap Band song. A lovely late 60s/early 70s vibe with contemporary sonic peaks added. It’s always fun to bring in the mix tracks you wouldn’t expect to hear.”

“I can relate to The Glimmers’ take on deejaying. They have lots of records and compose with the crowds they’re dealing with. You’re never too sure what you’re going to get. Keeps it fresh and interesting for everyone.”

“I’m confident Rodion will become one of the great artists of tomorrow. He’s still very young and has already done a lot. I’d personally love to hear him go even more musical and discoïd. I think he’ll end up writing symphonies of some kind…”

“I love old-school electro, the more electronic end of hip-hop then. Fat breakbeats programmed on drum machines and futuristic synths à la Kraftwerk. With this edit I tried to get a clearer structure and make it a bit less noisy.”

“Excellent Headman remix. Although I love the original - and Asia Argento’s sassy lyrics! - Robi managed to raise the temperature with a piano-led robodisco rendition. Ideal to finish the mix with and leave a lit
