    03 - Spineez of Breakout
    04 - M.D. Skillz

    07 - Three Stupidities
    08 - Two Mbiras

@anomalous: well, everything we had to do for this album used 1000 times more HD space, requiring 1000 times more server space and 1000 time longer to upload the files to our server. In mp3 format FFD is about 70GB. The upload of the 1000 versions to our server took about 5 days. With those kinds of time scales if you make a couple of mistakes then you can easily end up a month off schedule! With FLACs we might have completely crippled ourselves. Plus we would have wanted to make both FLAC and mp3s available, for those people listening on average audio gear who don't want to download massive files. For any normal release there is no justification for not providing lossless, but for this release the gain in quality couldn't be justified.

Wow! thats great work. but 12GBP for an mp3 release is pretty steep. for that kind of money i'd have thought a FLAC version would have been available, especially given the unique nature of each piece. what was the rationale behind only providing mp3?

@Cpt. Asteroid: damn, 3rd time lucky, 3G internet / mobile phone battery keeps cutting out and deleting my lengthy replies to your question. Let us post some more info at icarus.nu in the next 24 hours when we have more reliable connection. Keep an eye on twitter @birdy_electric. Thanks for the interest.

more info about how the versions are different/technique would be nice. only find "generative and parametric software techniques". What/how exactly? sliced+rearranged, ...?
