RuaidhriMannion /|\ iaMrhinoandRuin Ruaidhri Mannion London/Belfast RuaidhriMannion is an Irish composer and sonic artist living in London who specialises in combining electronic sounds with classical instruments and multimedia to create immersive and evocative live concert experiences. He is a Royal College of Music Scholar, who has recently completed his doctorate under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Cole and Gilbert Nouno (IRCAM), and generously supported by the Soirée d'Or Award. He is Head of Music at Brunel University of London where he teaches Music Technology, Production and Composition. In recent years his work he been an Associate Composer of the London Symphony Orchestra and commissioned to compose two works for new LSO Soundhub, premiered at LSO St Luke's. In 2024 he was commissioned by the award-winning FUKIO Saxophone Quartet in Cologne, Germany to compose 'Scaradh Anama le Corp' for sax quartet and live electronics. Other commissions include: the Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain in Switzerland to create 'Mise en Abyme', an immersive multimedia creation co-authored with the composer, Benoit Moreau; the Whitecube Gallery, London to compose music for the ‘Tribunal of the Dusk’ installation with artist, Eloise Hawser; a saxophone sextet commission for the Royal Academy of Art's 'Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined' exhibition; and an interactive electroacoustic performance at the Tate Modern's critically acclaimed 'Matisse: The Cut-Outs' exhibition. His music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, RINSE FM, Resonance FM, Radio Télévision Suisse, BBC Radio 1 NI, BBC Radio Foyle, RCA Radio and been performed in venues such as Kings Place, Whitechapel Gallery, Royal Academy of Arts, Cadogan Hall, Sonic Arts Research Centre, National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern.
