ADVANCE REVIEWS: "I love Album No. 4"! - Linda Thompson "It's fun, beautiful and thoughtful music" - Hal Hartley "Lee Feldman’s newest collection presents a rich variety of sounds and moods. These are art songs, but they’re also, unapologetically, pop songs: never arch, never pretentious, and sufficiently complex to reward any number of listenings. Album No.4 is the work of America’s most unique songwriting voice: a small masterpiece and a delight from beginning to end." - Art Dudley, Stereophile A few words from LEE FELDMAN, describing the creation of the song and the Official Music Video: "A filmmaker friend of mine was telling me about a movie he wanted to make -- a tragic story of a man born in a cradle of privilege. I wrote "Empty Room" thinking about that story. The video was made by the poets Carolyn Guinzio and Davis McCombs and their astonishing children, Warren and Charlotte; it was filmed in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The music was pretty much recorded in one take, with a few overdubs. That's me on keyboards and vocals; Byron Isaacs on bass and vocals; and Bill Dobrow on drums. We all have a love of '60s and '70s experimental jazz and that feel seemed appropriate for the song. My vocal style was informed by my years of study and practice of the North Indian vocal tradition."
