Frank Starr [MP]

Bigdash aka Frank Starr approaches music playing contralto sax at the age of seven cultivating a passion for Jazz music. Today Frank Starr, already known in the musical scene as BigDash, is a DJ/producer who has been increasingly involved in the Milanese electronic scenario. Frank Starr plays deep-house and nu-disco at his parties and in the most interesting clubs of the city, alongside artists like Kenny Larkin, Shaun Reeves, and Buzz Goree during the Hush Parties.
With the full development of Electronic music and particularly of Techno at the end of the 80s, Frank Starr conceives Music Priority, an artistic crew of friends and DJs with whom he begins to organize the very first well-known raves of the Tuscan scenario. In 2001, he records the EP Music Priority 001 for Urbanmantra Records, and thanks to the collaboration with Integrale Musique Ltd. his track “Junkie Tomato” is played by many of the European DJs of the moment. In 2003, he moves to Berlin with Pierantonio Gualtieri to reunite with Fraumutti, vocalist and instrumentalist on some new tracks. The work culminates in 2004 with the new label 11Numberecords and the making of two EPs: “King of Fools "(001) and "You Gotta Face It" (002). In 2007, the Music Priority project consolidates, and with Caterina Donnini and Valentina Mutti Music Priority Cultural Association is founded. Today the Association is specialized in music events management which involve not only the most significative crews of the city but also internationally-known DJs. In the same year, Frank Starr
organizes the first edition of a festival which is happening contemporarily in all of Europe: “Festa della Musica”. In a few years, it becomes the most important event organized with Music Priority and today it has reached its eighth edition successfully. In 2010, with his associate Bonny Lester, he founds Activ8sounds Srl, for audio equipment services using the advanced sound system Funktion-One. In 2013, in concurrence with his new musical path, he begins a collaboration with Mixworks, Detroit label. The following year, Music Priority collaborates with Unconventional Events Srl and together they are looking at several projects to run, after bringing the first edition of Holi Dance Festival in Florence and Milan - the international colour festival - in the previous year.

Aside from his work as a DJ and promoter, Frank Starr actively works as a producer in his studio in Lambrate, Milan and has a long series of productions and multiple events in a program for the future.
