Organ Synthz by DJ Solidus published on 2012-08-04T07:53:48Z A dubstep track I produced in Ableton in about 2 hours from scratch. Heavy rate-modulated bass. Genre Dubstep Comment by WANGZOOM This reminds me of something from the True Lies for SNES soundtrack. What you have now is more of a Drum N Bass groove, both in tempo and rhythm structure. If it's a dubstep sound your looking for, try 140 bpm and only put the snare on the 3rd beat of every measure instead of the 2nd and 4th. As for the bass, it seems like you've got automation of the LFO rate figured out, now find some other parameters to automate to create additional variation. Also try a variety of bass sounds and set up some call and response between them. In dubstep, the bassline typically carries the track from kick to snare to kick to snare and so on. If it's just switching between various LFO rates it's going to get boring pretty fast. A whole mess of variation throughout the track is key. 2012-08-06T14:54:24Z Comment by Roboteknic Nice LFOism! The beat doesn't really reflect dubstep though, and is just a loop... Nice 1st try tho bro! 2012-08-06T07:20:01Z
