Steve Pitron Afterhours March 2011 Podcast
    on March 27, 2011 05:33

Extract from Disco Matt's music newsletter "March Winds Of Wonderful Music", issued on 21st March 2011

"....So, with the scene set, lets hit the ground running and in the best possible way as top of the tree slot simply had to go to Steve Pitron, the spinning star that has been making our musical waves since the days of Crash, huh hum years ago and sent us off to South Africa in style with a scintlating set at Beyond four Sunday’s ago. So, arriving back in London on Wednesday, we had our eye on a return to Beyond, although not before checking out Room Service where he stole the show & entertained us to more of that Pitron perfection. However, not three days after we stepped on that plane to Durban, Steve was in the studio finalising his latest podcast, which we were itching to download while away, but have saved ourselves to give it full justice back here in London, which we are doing right here right now, rocking around our study while the sun is shining.

But by golly did we wish we had popped it onto our iPod in Cape Town, as it is a sunshine splashed collection of terrific tunes, which gets you in the mood for smiling in the sunshine, with a glorious mix of new tracks & oldies rehashed, including a fab Madonna remix, a re-work of “Make Your Move”, a brilliant rendition of “Upside Down” & the amazing “Missing” from Everything But The Girl in amongst many others new & newly re-made if you know what we mean. Indeed, with one track after the next sending us into a spin, we could go on & on (and will in a special post – watch out for that) but simply say, go get your copy now by heading to Steve Pitron Afterhours March 2011 Podcast by stevepitron and feel that Pitron perfection once again and as one track within this 142 minute mix suggests, “Get On The Dancefloor”, as this magnificent mix will surely inspire you to do, not least at Beyond where Steve is forever at his brilliant best..."

URBAN POEPLE presents "MAKASSAR MIX" by DJ.LEOMEO
    on January 19, 2011 12:48

Extract from Disco Matt's music newsltter, "Superb Streo Sounds", issued on 15th January 2011

"...Now onto a D.J. that had an amazing 2010, this year looking just as busy, French fancy Leomeo’s feet hardly touching the ground in the last twelve months, indeed he only having spent a handful (we are talking single figures here) of weekends in his home city of Paris. Tours, especially of Asia, have left some indelible musical marks on this young man, so much so, he has been in the recording studio to produce a very special compilation that nods to the oriental, but has definite disco undertones, a little bit of a departure from Mr Carandang’s usual tribal & tech styles, but is every bit as good as his previous productions, in some ways better. With tracks including artists such as David Penn, Richard Grey, & Taylor Square, this definitely has dancefloor pedigree, the 58 minute mix hooking us from the start. So, it goes without saying that his “Urban People Makassar Mix” is an absolute must for your collection which you can download at URBAN POEPLE presents "MAKASSAR MIX" by DJ.LEOMEO by LEOMEO...".

    Guy Williams Like That
    on August 10, 2010 08:47

Extract from Disco Matt's Music Is The Answer post, issued on 9th Auguts 2010

"...Finally and bringing us right up to date is a D.J. that made a huge splash at the Gay Brighton Dance Festival this last weekend and is literally still recovering from the massive success that was Rebel Afterhours this morning, some describing it as “...the best party of the year so far...”. While we weren’t there, we can certainly vouch for Guy Williams’ amazing talent behind the decks and have to take our hat off to the man for the hard work he has put in both on his D.J’ing & his club promoting, both vocations bearing considerable fruit at the moment. Quite how he fits studio work in is beyond us, but he does and we simply adore his latest track compilation, “Like That” pulling in strands of tech, nu disco, trance & alluring vocals, which is, as it say’s on the tin “... an ass wigglin percussive groover...”. So don’t delay, go get your slice of this Williams wonder at Guy Williams Like That by Guy Williams..."

    Michel Mizrahi @ After Hours
    on August 10, 2010 07:33

Extract from Disco Matt's Music Is The Answer post issued on 9th August 2010

"...Another new(ish) talent to reach our posts, although not a full on focus yet, is Michel Mizrahi, who very much played his part at Matinee’s “Open Air Summer” party at MOS in July and issued a mix marking his magnificent performance there. However, not resting on his laurels, Michel has followed it up with his “Afterhours” compilation, which we think is even better than his Matinee one and is jam packed with euro style tracks, pulsating progressive beats & lots of vocal infusions that make this a stand-out 66 minutes of music mixing, which you must surely sample at Michel Mizrahi @ After Hours by Michel Mizrahi..."

Extract from Disco Matt's Music Is The Answer post issued on 9th August 2010

"....Then, there is his track “Dance” on which Steven combined forces with Lenz Garcia, vocalist Olaya & the multifaceted Marco Da Silva to produce what Steven describes as “...another tribal stomper with a dirty dirty bass line and a clash of Marco's baritone voice and Olaya's diva screams..” and he isn’t wrong there. Having topped the masterbeat charts, we think this track is definately going places which you can add to your collection via Dance - Steven Redant, Lenz Garcia & Marco DaSilva feat. Extract from Disco Matt's Muisc Is The Answer post issued on 3rd August

"...we promised to bring you details of a live set devotion to the magnificent Matinee “Open Air Summer Party” by emerging talent Michel Mizrahi and here it is, a glorious Balearic inspired 58 minutes of sounds that reflect his performance at this huge event last month, the whole compilation drenched with euro style vocals & beats but with plenty of funky intentions too, Funkagenda’s collaboration with Mark Knight, the brilliant “Devil Walking” standing proud alongside Blast’s “Crazy Man 2010” as two highlights of the mix..."

    on June 29, 2010 15:03

Extract from Disco Matt's "Music Is The Answer" post on 29th June, the full report available at http://discomatt.com

Right, now we are definitely in European mode, we want to give a big shout to a new track release by Eduardo de La Torre (yes you guessed it, a man on our list) who has been making a very welcome habit of jetting over to London recently, his last visit marking an incredible set at Beyond, where he took the Terrace room by storm, keeping the party going deep into Sunday afternoon. But returning home to Berlin signalled another success, as he landed a new residency at the city’s “Connection” club and this “Balearic Berlin” six minute splendour out at http://soundcloud.com/eduy2k/dj-edu-de-la-torre-no-scene-balearic-berlin-org-mix is a celebration of that & his progressive house intentions and we love it!

Taken from an extract of Disco Matt's profile of D.J. Luque, which gets exclusive release on the website for this years "London Glabal Dance Festival" and in a special post at http://discomatt.com.

"....Their latest promo work entitled “So Lone” which received critical acclaim at this year’s winter music conference in Miami, very indicative of the magical sound of Velardi & Luque, the track drenched with deep vocals and euro beats that should see it become another smash hit for the two...."
