Tightrope - Ratcliffe by Atlantic Jaxx Recordings published on 2011-04-07T11:13:55Z Tightrope is the opening track from the Dorus Rijkers EP by RATCLIFFE. Named after a famous Dutch sea-rescuer, the Dorus Rijkers EP is RATCLIFFE’s first solo outing since the City Dreams EP in 1995 and encompasses a schizophrenic blend of Battles inspired time-signatures and multi-instrumental synth movements spliced into a whirlpool of abstract beats – a distillation of the thoughts and endless jams that continually interweave through RATFCLIFFE’s head. The entire four track EP is available to pre-order now on iTunes at the special price of £1.29. Better get the EP then 2011-04-21T09:51:17Z Comment by Coconut Club heavvvyyy 2011-04-17T17:18:46Z Comment by Mojohamster Sweet track. Nice to hear a lo-fi synth track that demonstrates an understanding of the limitations of old synths, which forced people who worked in certain mediums to compose in a specific way (i.e, fast arpeggios instead of chords). That bass lead has a sort of wash effect that not only drives the track, but fills the empty space in the soundscape. 2011-04-17T03:05:13Z Comment by Squiidy This is so dope. 2011-04-15T22:04:22Z
