Policing the Dock disquiet0474 by zoundsabar published on 2021-02-02T06:25:08Z I randomly chose 3 Placebo tracks, then listened to them and responded the most to #45 "derbydrive" by @chaonaut from @gibbsdavidl's piece Reverse Java. I mixed and stereoized those two tracks, then combined them with some recent recordings of waves and dock creaks at our local small boat harbor which I tweaked to fit nicely with the piece. Comment by zoundsabar @david-l-gibbs: A creaky squeaky brush performance! 2021-02-04T18:22:20Z Comment by zoundsabar @david-l-gibbs: Thanks David! 2021-02-04T06:26:56Z Comment by David Gibbs This came out great! Cool sounds at the end. 2021-02-03T22:38:56Z Comment by David Gibbs @chaonaut: I can hear the brushes ha ha! 2021-02-03T22:36:13Z Comment by zoundsabar @chaonaut it is surprising how often the addition of a sympathetic field recording seems to work with some songs. 2021-02-03T07:09:35Z Comment by halF unusuaL Nice! 2021-02-03T06:30:46Z Comment by chaonaut @zoundsabar: part of me hoped the third contribution would be some kind of brushed drum kit; the jostling docks perform a similar function, and I love that it's sometimes hard to tell where the "lead" is amongst the players. 2021-02-03T03:02:45Z Comment by zoundsabar @user-711331258: Thanks! 2021-02-02T23:51:36Z Comment by zoundsabar @chaonaut: Thanks! I love your edgy amorphous lead line. It goes uncannily well with some of the dock squeaks. 2021-02-02T23:51:23Z Comment by chaonaut waves and pulses... great mix! 2021-02-02T18:05:30Z Comment by K Joule Awesome feel to this piece! 2021-02-02T15:58:02Z
