Zitakula Amsterdam bookings: firstname.lastname@example.org mgmt: email@example.com Zitakula, a Dutch-Belgian funk powerhouse, named after the Psittacula Krameri, the invasive rose-ringed parakeets always making raising a ruckus in Amsterdam’s cityparks. After three summers filled with festival shows in and around the Netherlands—notably Zwarte Cross, Oerol, Valkhof Festival, Wildeburg, Welcome to the Village and Wicked Jazz Sounds Festival—singer Sandy Miessi Bakomi joined the band. Within four months the band had written and recorded their first full-length record. After months of hard work the band presented Oasis in April 2017 with a sold-out release show in Amsterdam’s Paradiso, and features on primetime television and radio shows. The record mixes authentic afrobeat with raw funk and steaming psychedelic soul. Produced and mixed by Wiboud Burkens (Jungle by Night, Re:freshed Orchestra, Zuco 103). "Zitakula delivers a huge sound ... which usually requires a minimum of fifteen musicians to achieve. The band can proudly continue its victory march along the summer festivals with this more than festive album," - Dutch music magazine 'OOR' about debut album Oasis. "Excellent music for the upcoming festival season. You won't be able to sit still with this band!," - MusicMaker magazine.
