Yng Pat Trick
NE & SW Ga
My name is Yng Pat Trick. Not Patrick. Pat. Trick. I spell it Yng because contrary to what you may believe, i don't O U shit. If you ask me where i'm from, be sure to specify whether you mean my place of birth or where i grew up.
As a military brat, i was born in Tacoma, Wa., & raised in a number of places such as Wisconsin, Germany, Texas, etc. I spent majority of my youth going back & forth from my mother's in Killeen/Ft, Hood, Tx., at the time and Gainesville, Ga., my hometown where my family is from. Thes are the two places i credit with giving me my original sound. Although both Texas & Georgia are in the South, they each have a unique sound that i have adapted & combined into one.
My final years in high school were spent in the only other place i call home. Albany, Ga. This is where S.L.A.P. or Die was born, as well as P.C.G. with Yung Tsar, Bybol Vurse, Phat Bastard, & Echo Terrestrio. After high school I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta majoring in Audio Production for a brief amount of time before a run-in with the law landed me back in Albany.
The summer of '08 began with me running a small studio out of Sasser, Ga. through a man named Benjamin Hand, who saw potential in my love of music. Using the confidence I had gained from the artists who had heard me rhyme while buying my beats, by the end of the summer I had put together a mixtape of my own titled "QP". On the way to make duplicates of the master copy, I suffered a severe back injury in a car accident & was immobilized for 3 months. Ironically enough, the only place I had to go was the studio.
In the summer of '09, I released my first mixtape S.L.A.P. Vol. 1, alongside Bybol Vurse & Yung Tsar. The success of this project led to two more installments before I moved back up to Atlanta in 2011.
Once I moved, I linked up with my manager Joseph Houston III (Joe3Ent CEO #GaPowerPromo) & released my first solo mixtape, "Coffee And Kush". I began performing some of the songs at various open mics in the city. I met a young man named Malcolm, also known as Mally KO Da Kidd (MKODK). After collaborating on a few songs we decided to do an entire project based on our common ground; humor. "S.L.A.P. U Silly" was the result. Now in our second year of collaboration, we have completed a compilation mixtape with all of our affiliates named "FnF: We Want It All". Now we are working on our second collaboration, "#C10". The summer of '12 was spent awaiting the arrival of my firstborn, pushing S.L.A.P. U Silly, & working on my second solo mixtape, "Cannibis And Caffiene" which has yet to be released due to the complications I've faced with the custody of my daughter.
Now that everything is situated, I'm back at it. The first single from "#C10", "Don't Look Down", is already in rotation in strip clubs on the Westside of Atlanta. "#C10" dropped 4/20/13 & "Cannibis And Caffiene" was released in July.
On January 18 of 2014 i released a mixtape titled "Yng Pat Trick - Presents Futures Pasts which included remakes of my favorite songs' instrumentals and themes, and serves as a prequel to my upcoming (currently untitled) album, due late this spring. It will be released via Google Play along with future projects from myself and WiiFii including the upcoming "#3D (III Dimensions) which is due this spring as well.
I'm just a military brat with a knack for making good music who used to just want to make beats. However, my flow speaks for itself.
