Yikeshan Abudushalamu Yikeshan Abudushalamu Shanghai Yikeshan Abudushalamu is an Uyghur composer who was born in Xinjiang, China on March 18th, 1985. He studied composition with professors Guang Zhao and Shirui Zhu at Shanghai Conservatory from 2008 to 2013 for his bachelor degree, and with professor Shirui Zhu from 2015 to 2019 for his master degree. He obtained such awards as Excellence Award of China 2nd National Percussion Instrument Composition Competition in 2010, Winner of Shanghai 2nd Rivers Awards Composition Competition in 2010, and Excellence Award of Beijing 11th International Electronic Music Festival Composition Competition in 2014. From 2012 to 2013, he had been selected by Shanghai Conservatory as an exchange student to Haute école de musique de Genève, where he studied composition with Michael Jarrell and electro-acoustic composition with Luis Naon. In 2013, Ensemble XX. Jahrhundert of Austria had successfully premiered his commissioned string quartet ‘Modulation of Three Primary Colors’ by Shanghai New Music Week at the 6th term of this festival. In 2015, he was a composer-in-residence of Manca Festival in Nice, France. In 2019, he was the winner of Luciano Berio International Composition Competition. Now he is a Shanghai-based freelance composer.
