What part of "Made In Japan!" is so difficult to understand?
It's really a drag for me to have to push this issue and actually reject submissions from people. It's not something I would prefer to do and has nothing to do with whether I like or dislike your music, but folks, please. With all the groups that exist, do you really need to submit your music to a group that is described as a group for those who make music in Japan, if you are not in Japan nor even work with anyone in Japan? What is the point of even having a group called "Made In Japan!", if submissions have nothing to do with Japan? Okay, so you like Japan and would love to market yourself to people in Japan, but can I really allow that and have that work overtake the exposure of music that is actually Made In Japan!? No, or else the whole meaning of "Made In Japan!" is meaningless. It's like Obama said to Kim Jong-il, "Words must have MEANING".
I have had to put in a lot of time investigating whether some people are actually in Japan. In that time I have decided that at least working with someone in Japan or someone at least spending 50% of their time in Japan would fulfill the MEANING of **MADE IN JAPAN!**. Hey!, I am trying to accommodate people.
So, please, don't take it personally, if I do not approve your track. It doesn't mean I like or dislike you or your music. It purely means I do not approve that your track fulfils the criteria of being **MADE IN JAPAN!**. So, If you would like your track to be approved for submission, PLEASE, be in Japan, spend at least 30% of your time in Japan, work with someone in Japan or at least create the illusion of being In Japan enough to fool me. If you can not fulfill one of these criteria, I will not approve your track for submission. And just because this process is a major pain in my derriere, it may not be approved at all, so don't come to me making any accusation that I am whatever. You may politely message me to correct my misunderstanding of how your track actually should be included in this group, however.
BTW: yes, I am in Japan. I have lived here for seven years. And, no, I do not teach English. I work doing something related to the Internet and computers. Because I, too, would like to be doing music I hope to not have to put in too much time approving peoples submitted tracks, so please take it easy on me.
