Cherries (disquiet0247) by Ya Wha? published on 2016-09-24T22:19:34Z Disquiet Junto 0247 - Waltz Maybe Make a track based on Lark Piene's drawing, entitled Waltz Maybe. http://disquiet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Lark-Piene-Waltz-Maybe-560x165.jpg Each of my kids seemed to make similar looking characters when learning to draw. The sketch also reminded me of a schoolyard scene. And I have always associated a waltz with this music box that I got from my Grandmother after she died - two birds on a broken branch, rotating on a stand, playing a piece in 3/4 that I have never since identified... I left it on the window sill in my room, and would gladly listen to it when doing school work... So, it was all a little inevitable I pull out the wonderful DSK Audio Music Box free VST (http://www.dskmusic.com/dsk-music-box/). Had a sample of a ticking watch that I stretched and EQ'ed as the sound of the clock drive mechanism that rotates a music box, and I added a little ambient drum hit towards the end. Waltz Maybe? Waltz Definitely! Hope you like it. Yeah like I said, my brain thru Thursday must have been mulling over waltzes and 3/4 time songs I knew, cause I found myself thinking about that music box I had when I was younger on the Friday afternoon, then I joined the dots and came up with this track on Friday night. Definitely a case of the sound of the sampler patch inspiring the whole direction of the track here tho... 2016-09-27T21:46:28Z Comment by Formant love the music box idea! 2016-09-27T16:21:11Z Comment by Ya Wha? @suss-musik: The delicate naivety of the sound, the simplicity of its design, and it's polyphonic! Yes, it's a wonderful thing... 2016-09-27T15:16:02Z Comment by Ya Wha? @wust: Thanks man (y) 2016-09-27T15:15:28Z Comment by Ya Wha? @suss-musik: Wow thank you! I think the sound of the Music Box plugin was so 'right', it inspired the whole track... 2016-09-27T15:15:09Z Comment by WÜST soo nice 2016-09-27T14:09:32Z Comment by Suss Müsik Best of the lot. Without the EQ, it sounded like the clock drive could never have physically worked! 2016-09-25T15:57:16Z Comment by Ya Wha? @pytchblend: Thanks pytch! I enjoyed adding the little details here... 2016-09-25T15:46:05Z Comment by Ya Wha? @daniel-diaz: Thank you!
