Emerging pop artist Yan Simon is a singer-songwriter and composer.

From ABBA to Lady Gaga, from Freddie Mercury to MARINA, Yan mines musical and artistic inspiration from many corners of the pop realm.
His true inspiration lies in empowering others to celebrate who they are, and helping them to transform difficult experiences into moments of strength.
His songwriting and performance style are influenced by his classical piano training and his love of the stage, theatre, and drama.

Yan Simon's debut album 'Are There Any Rules?' was released in 2020.
It's composed of 9 original tracks, each with its own unique flavor.
The songs in this album are telling real stories from Yan Simon's life, creating a cinematic kaleidoscope of moments that feel both relatable and theatrical at the same time.

Every song Yan released since that album has been based on a true story from his life. His stories are about, among other things, the sudden loss of his father, the challenges of dealing with mental health, and his experience of growing up gay in a conservative culture.
Yan's sonic and visual inspirations, on the other hand, convey deep passion, cinematic theatricality, and love.

When not live streaming or performing live in the GTA or Ottawa, Yan Simon creates content talking about his experience within queer culture, queer and trans rights, as well as his musical journey.
