We’re proud to present ‘Strange Toes’, the debut EP from Texas-based trio, @GlassCannon.
- Kasey Chesnutt: Drums/FX
- Elias Salaz: Guitar/FX
- Holly Harper Chesnutt: Vocals/FX
Combining elements of bass music, psychedelic rock, and world music, Glass Cannon’s ‘Strange Toes’ EP offers a truly unique and dynamic listening experience as the poignant lyrics, captivating guitar melodies, deep bass frequencies, and thumping percussion lead us down a path of introspection toward blossoming realization. Drawing on inspiration from the mystical East, the heavy womps of dubstep/bass music, and their own life experiences, this trio breathes life into the sometimes stale bass music world, offering a renewed sense of wonder and novelty as they dissolve boundaries of convention and expectation. Demonstrating a deep understanding of the seemingly lost art of songwriting, Glass Cannon take a purposeful approach to creating music that resonates on multiple levels and showcases the brilliance of their vocalist/lyricist, Holly Harper Chesnutt. Throughout the EP, Holly’s voice commands power and conveys passion, while also tapping into haunting dissonance that inevitably raises the hair on the back of your neck in the best way. Prepare to feel things.
>>>> Here's what Glass Cannon has to say about Strange Toes:
"This EP for us, means learning to take a real close look at your life and your goals, being patient with yourself while aspiring to be greater. Letting go of old weights that hold you beneath your potential. Trusting something bigger than yourself will take care of you, but also learning to lift yourself up with Grace and strength."

When we discover a piece of art that encapsulates a snapshot of our journey through this strange life, we receive a glimpse of the synchronistic and supralogical nature of things as they are. Human connection through artistic expression is a precious gift that must be fostered and cultivated, now more than ever, given the current state of affairs in today’s world. Despite how alone each of us may feel at times, a song, painting, or poem can open us up to the possibility that there are others out there of a kindred essence who feel, or have felt, the same way. Only by looking within and honestly exploring our shadow can we overcome the obstacles preventing growth, healing, and connection, and by doing that we tend to magnetically attract others on a similar path. This paradox of diving deeply inside ourselves in order to connect more deeply with others presents itself in such instances, as we find deep meaning in the words of another, as we vibrate with resonance in the melodies of another. ‘Strange Toes’ is a shining example of this phenomenon for those of us in the WUMP family, and it’s an honor to share it with you all.
‘Strange Toes’ is available as a Name-Your-Price download through Bandcamp, so feel free to donate a few dollars to these wonderful musicians if you feel compelled to do so! Otherwise, just grab your free download and share with your friends.
