Bison Rutting In The Dragon's Mouth - Disquiet0406 by nickname: Rebel on Wow Cool® Music published on 2019-10-13T03:10:00Z Gritboy's Yellowstone Field Report Made for Disquiet Junto Project 0406: Phoneme Home https://disquiet.com/2019/10/10/disquiet-junto-project-0406-phoneme-home/ Most of the samples used are my own field recordings made in September 2018 at Yellowstone. Recordings provided by the National Park Service were also used. I made the recordings using Apogee MetaRecorder on an iPhone with a Zoom iq6 external stereo microphone with a windscreen. Very noticeable at the start and returning at the end is some electrical interference I picked up while recording the back of the refrigerator in the cabin I was staying in. I spent a very long time chasing crickets to get the brief samples used here. They make a very distinctive sound. The Dragon's Mouth is prominently featured. I did not actually get to record any bison rutting. That was our tax dollars hard at work for a good cause. Mixing was done in Apple Logic X. Minimal effects were used. Mainly equalization. The opening and closing used a sample of crickets processed in Native Instruments' Form sample-based synth Reaktor Ensemble.
