Quadrophonicals by wolfgangschaltung

So there is this annual German gathering of modular synthesizer nerds, and I am one of them. In 2016, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, we decided to do quadrophonic music performances: one speaker in each of the four corners of the room, you sit in the middle and try to create an immersive acoustic experience, with sound moving all over the place – instead just coming from the front.

As you might guess, there's a bit of technical challenge to reproduce quadrophonic music (4 speakers) on a stereo system (2 speakers). There are some tricks to make it possible, and I used these tricks for the pieces in this playlist, but these tricks require you to LISTEN VIA HEADPHONES.

But even with headphone listening, as somebody who had the pleasure of experiencing a real quadrophonic concert, I have to tell you that the results of these tricks pale compared to a real quadrophonic experience. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the listening experience as much as I enjoyed the creative process. Thanks for giving me a bit of your time.
