Tampa
This is the official Wirethrone Soundcloud.
Hailing from the world’s death metal capitol of Tampa, Florida, Wirethrone is an up-and-coming melodic death metal force to be reckoned with. Established in 2011 by James Harper & Josh Delgado with the ferocity of the Gothenburg sound in mind, the group released “The Architect” single in 2013. The subsequent full album “The Sun Betrays Us to the Night,” produced by Matt Johnson (The Autumn Offering) and mastered by Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris), was released shortly after the departure of Mantford Hawkins III (guitar) and Kristopher Huffman (drums). In 2014 the band recruited Tampa scene veterans Chris Horan (bass, keys, programming) and Adam Mehdaova (guitar) to the mix, adding in heavy elements of thrash metal, old-school death metal, hardcore, classical, and progressive influences . Drummer James Smith joined in 2015, adding complex grooves & completing the lineup for the eponymous studio album released on May 22nd 2018, which features drum production from Anup Sastry (Monuments, Marty Friedman) and guest vocals from the legendary George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher (Cannibal Corpse). After the departure of live drummer Jake Howard, Wirethrone entered Mastersound Studios in Tampa, Florida in June of 2019 to record their most tenacious and experimental head-turning effort yet, The Serpent Queen EP.
Wirethrone has shared the stage with numerous international & national acts such as Dark Tranquility, Morbid Angel, Amorphis, Insomnium, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Ensiferum, Rivers of Nihil, Conjuror, Necrot, Immolation, Obscura, The Absence, The Faceless, The Offering, Arsis, Carach Angren, Exmortus, Mindscar, Seven Kingdoms, Abysmal Dawn, Abigail Williams, Doyle(Misfits), Davey Suicide, Angel Vivaldi,Paths of Possession, and Enfold Darkness.
