Child Care Provider Appreciation Day, May 3, 2016 by Winston Prouty Center published on 2016-06-02T18:38:07Z This Friday, May 6th is Provider Appreciation Day. This annual day of recognition gives us the opportunity to celebrate the important work that child care providers do. Finding extra time to communicate when dropping off or picking up your child from care can be hard. There’s much to squeeze in – how things are going at home, reporting on the days’ events, or reminders about upcoming activities - all while trying to rush to work or make it home after a busy day. Expressing your gratitude for those who create a safe, nurturing environment for your child is easy. Ask your child to describe what makes them happy during the day and write it in a blank greeting card. Or have them to draw a picture of themselves with their teacher. Or a simple, ‘thank you for taking such good care of my child, I appreciate you’ are meaningful words that a provider would love to hear. In whatever way makes sense to your family, remember to say thanks this Friday on Provider Appreciation Day.
