William Wild William Wild Knoxville William Wild began as a home recording project in the fall of 2012 for Knoxville based singer-songwriter Garrett Sale, who laid the cornerstone for what would become the band’s first full-length album in his bedroom while studying at University. His folksy D.I.Y. endeavor, originally intended as a way to experiment with songwriting and sound production, unexpectedly took on a new spirit as the diverse cluster of songs began to unfold and reveal a vibrant personality of its own. William Wild’s inaugural release pays homage to the musical pioneers of the counterculture revolution with their uniquely dynamic synthesis of 1960’s folk and 1970’s rock ‘n’ roll. The group’s distinct blend of acoustic instrumentation, layered vocals and lush strings embellished by heavy percussion and dark guitar tones draw comparisons to Crosby, Stills & Nash, Led Zeppelin, and Fleetwood Mac.
