From Scratch I is the first part of From Scratch, a three-part music cycle based on drawings by visual artist Alexandra Roozen.

From Scratch I was written for the Ives Ensemble, which gave the first performance on November 9, 2019 at the Toonzaal in Den Bosch during the November Music Festival.
