The Breakbeat Paradise recident Wiccatron from Denmark, gets in to shape, showing some real knuckle skills on the Strongbeats EP release, bringing funk to the club scene with worldwide support.
When it comes to cutting edge driven ghettobass, ghettoelectro, hooky tech-funk stabs, funky guitar riffs and banging breaks that oozes quality, the Strongbeats EP by Wiccatron rules. Bringing you one of BBP's finest remix line-ups ever from all over the world: Morlack (France), Mustbeat Crew (Hungary), Fuzzbox Inc (UK), Jiggy Joe (Germany) and Ewan Hoozami (UK).
In the beginning Wiccatron's approach to musicmaking came even before teenagehood, featured in various so called demos on Commodore Amiga. He's very first musical projects was created on demand after being contacted by demogroups at demoparties in the beginning of the nineties.
Today with the many years of musical experience also pushin` the funk with BadboE, starting up the Breakbeat Paradise Recordings Label, Wiccatron presents some massive breakbeat tunes both heavy and catchy on the new Strongbeats EP release. Causin' wreck to the breaks scene!
A. The title track, Strongbeats, features a squelchy funk bass, funky guitar riffs, alongside groovy and hooky atmospheric dips, drops, ghettoelectro bass and a whole lot of breakbeat that oozes quality. Emotive vocal cuts and a laughing pirate alongside the banging skittering polyrythmic break, adds an over the top freshness to this production. It's an oldskool meets nuskool, funky fresh breaks musthave, upholding a sence of humor that shows, this track doesn't take it'self to serious either.
B. JiggyJoe's & Ewan Hoozami remix spin-off does the trick. German producer JiggyJoe & Ewan Hoozami takes Strongbeats over the top with a shadow of dubstep, yet still well above funky waters. The breaks are upfront and more ghettoelectro, and a warbling seductive bass-string really pushes this remix to the limit and it works out wonderfully. JiggyJoe is also recently featured on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings with his very own new EP release called JiggyJoe Vol.2.
C. The Fuzzbox Inc remix, is a laidback heavy funkateeer. The two boys from Fuzzbox Inc has released tune on various label such as Bombastic Jam, as well as doing remixes for Fort Knox Five. With this remix, the boys pick up Strongbeats, with some really funky laidback breaks talent. These breaks really stands out and unfolds on top of some really groovy strings and heavy stabs with chopped-up-vocals making this tune both heavy and catchy.
D. The French producer Morlack's remix is a true nu-funk pleasure. During the last 15 years Morlack has been playing in almost every European country as well as Australia. With this remix, entitled "Morlacks Never Judge A Cover Remix", Strongbeats gets a full "nu-funk" facial with warbling bass. It holds a few surprises up it's sleeve, moving a bit away from the original but only to make true poetry with great effect.
E. The Mustbeat Crew presents a slower constellation of Stronbeats with funky guitars, beats, and bouncing bass and glitchy drivebombs. This is a great broken beats performance augmented by seductive jazzy keys and a bouncing bass making sure to make an even stronger EP. The Mustbeat Crew fellas from Budapest, is also featured on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, with their very own Get This Clear EP.
F. This is the second part of Strongbeats called Strongbeats PTII (Deep PSI Bonusmix). This wraps it up featuring deep pressured sci-fi effects and a suite of fabulously catchy vocal phrases and strings. It hands out upfront heavy polyrythmic breakbeats augmented by super funky guitars and flutes all layered over a chugging harmonic bassgroove. Stronbeats PTII (Deep PSI Bonusmix), shows even deeper spectrums with a massive contrast between good and evil in the form of warbling evil acid parts. This is a must-hear for those with more atmospheric, underground tastes.
