Kokoro Los Angeles Kokoro is a techno producer based in Downtown Los Angeles. Inspired by the city’s burgeoning underground techno scene, which comes alives in abandoned Skid Row warehouses, Kokoro hides away in his DTLA studio like a mad scientist in a laboratory — laser-focused on breeding mysterious, rhythmic landscapes that build to immense, sub-rattling drops. He aims to create emotional environments with his music - environments that evoke a sense of philosophical curiosity to the listener. Through diligent study and practice, Kokoro discovered his sound — deep, ambient soundscapes intersected with dark, brooding 4/4 rhythms. He aims to bring internal debate to his listener's mind, whilst providing the colossal energy and intensity that an afterhours warehouse needs. In 2018, Kokoro started a house and techno collective called contrast, which aims to bring new, underground producers together to grow and inspire the community as a whole. He now works as a software engineer for Native Instruments on Metapop, building a community for music makers.
