Sustainability Now! | Amanda Fuller + Shaun Graves | Urban Ag Coalition | Oct. 29, 2018 by Forward Radio published on 2018-10-30T00:25:17Z On this extra special Pledge Drive edition of Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, puts down his shovel and goes LIVE in studio with guests Amanda Fuller and Shaun Graves from the Urban Agriculture Coalition! The Coalition was created within the Food in Neighborhoods (FIN) Community Coalition as the brain-child of Lilias Pettit-Scott, the Urban Agriculture Conservationist for Louisville’s Soil & Water Conservation District. The Coalition works to create an equitable and resilient food system in Louisville by: supporting and expanding home and community based food production and distribution; providing agricultural education and resources; and restoring the relationships between our gardens and their communities and ecosystems. The Urban Ag Coalition can help you find community gardens or orchards, access a directory of "who's who" in local urban agriculture, and connect you with a wealth of resources such as classes and how-to guides for soil testing, attracting pollinators, raising chickens, and planting cover crops. They also have an online calendar of events (workshops, festivals, farmers markets, meetings) and a forum where you can ask questions and find or offer resources like seeds, plants, land, or fellow growers. The Coalition meets over lunch or once a month to share ideas and discuss projects folks are working on. The next meeting is Tuesday 10/30/18 at 12:30pm at the Common Table (2234 W. Market Street). Access all of the great resources available on the Urban Agriculture Coalition's website at http://foodinneighborhoods.org/grow Make your pledge TODAY to support FORward Radio - The Cure for the Common Radio, and pick up on some of our exclusive thank-you gifts and matching pledges through November 4, 2018 at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/forward-radio-wfmp-lp-106-5-fm-louisville-ky#/ As always, our interview is followed by an up-to-date community calendar for the week, so get your calendars out and get ready to take action to make sustainability happen NOW!
