The name Wei Chi Field is derived from the term Wei Qi, translating to "protective energy". Your Qi is your life force and there is no better way to circulate it and share it than through movement. Wei Chi Field aims to make one aware of their energy field through raising the vibration of the listener with intentional sonic frequencies. It also promote oneness with the universe and each other, with music being a universal language.
Wei-Chi Field acts as a pathway from one dimension to the next, accentuating the ebb and flow of the natural progression of things. Many of the sounds are taken directly from nature and its unique speicies and then transformed into the fluvial beats to which we all move our feet. But perhaps what places Wei Chi Field most in touch with pure source energy are the live elements. The music takes listeners on journeys that reach desert lands, underwater oases, remote jungles and rain forests, and the great blue sky.
Dan Yolles, composer and guitar player, actively communes with the octaves creating otherwordly, yet still multi-cultural blueprints for the other members of the project to co-create with. Madelion Moondrop, harmonic Source-ceress, channels the goddess to accentuate the story at hand, of love, humanity and the eternal through song. The classically trained, Samuel Wexler, strings it all together with the beautiful resonance of his violin, and extension of his soul and an expression of the purity of sound. Wei Chi's very own percussionists, Benjamin Sunshine and Shane Egan bring the lighthearted fun to the ensemble, accentuating the intricate electronic melodies with ancient tribal beats and jazzy finger snapping, creating the rhythym of movement. Their sounds stimulate the body and plant the roots of the project in moment.
Wei Chi Field gently holds your energetic being in the present, presenting your mind with sacred harmonies and intricate composition to grasp, your body with deep down-temple bass rhythyms to move to, and your spirit with an oppurtunity to catalyze its own and the collective's evolution by tapping into the Wei Chi Field.
