Holly Drummond - Cloud Nine - Weather Anomaly Remix by WeatherAnomaly published on 2012-10-11T02:54:27Z Here's my remix of 'Cloud Nine' by Holly Drummond. So after remixing Alloise and making two other demo tracks in "acoustic pop to drum'n'bass" style I still felt like remixing one more. I found this acapella by Holly (shared for a remix competition) and I turned it into dnb. Not a lot of my work here to be honest. Holly provided all the necessary parts, including MIDI files. The original melodies are lovely and I didn't want to mess with them (and screw them up) so apart from several really minor changes I left them as they were. I also left the vocals unsliced in the final mix. They are sweet and charming and doing stutter cuts and pitch variation on slices kind of took that away. I did although flattened as much as I could this little vibrato in the second verse (on this sustained D with "/aɪ/") as it sounded kind of unnatural and did not work well with otherwise really smooth flow of the vocals. So, Holly, if you like this, I'd love to collaborate with you in the future. Only thing is that it's just a little bit to repetitive, maybe use a few filters and cut the drums more often, like you did here. Best quality remix so far! 2012-10-11T05:31:51Z Comment by Planet X (Colten) Love that bass synth in the background, adds a lot of originality and flair to your track. Personally, I think that's the best sound any remix so far as added. Well done 2012-10-11T04:27:33Z
