Dublin, where Ngoni grew up before moving to Rotterdam. He creates an ambient atmosphere with shimmering chords and organic percussion sourced from a self-produced sample pack. "Difaqane" delves into Ngoni's electro palette with 808 drums and a gurgling synth line, with snatches of breathy vocals that convey a sense of unease. The mood takes an uplifting turn on "Phase 2" with an acid-washed melody and tingling chords, while "Gaborone West Groove" rumbles through with a huge bassline and snappy percussion. On "Ikalanga" Ngoni samples his own vocals, repeating an indecipherable phrase between a robust bassline and a playful, bleep-filled synthline. A certified banger with a personal touch.
