Survivor of sexual abuse inspires others to speak up by WBEZ published on 2014-07-31T21:15:08Z When she was in 8th grade, Barbara Blaine was sexually abused by a Catholic priest who taught at her grammar school. Years later, she spoke publicly about the abuse, and began to reach out to others who were similarly abused. Thus began SNAP, the Survivors Network for those Abused by Priests. Today on StoryCorps we hear from Blaine, interviewed by her friend Sheila Murphy. Blaine begins by saying that the priest who abused her later worked at a hospital in her hometown. WBEZ's Bill Healy produced this excerpt.
