Peaceful Morning by virtjk published on 2014/01/13 05:45:35 +0000 A sampler of the authentic Super NES style soundtrack to Boot Hill Heroes, a retro RPG set in the American Wild West. Featuring co-op multiplayer, a vast and beautifully written story, and charming sprite graphics, Boot Hill Heroes is the perfect game for anyone who misses classic RPGs and loves the "Spaghetti Western" genre. The original soundtrack will be released to coincide with the game's launch, and will be available from http://virt.bandcamp.com on a "pay if you want" basis -- free with optional donation, Creative Commons licensed. It will contain nearly 2 hours of original music, combining influences from Ennio Morricone and Nobuo Uematsu (whoa!) and infusing it with my own style. It's unlike anything you've heard from me, and I hope you enjoy it. Special attention was paid to authenticity. Although the unique sound of the SNES is hard to precisely recreate (and I have friends who are experts at it) I adhered to the same limitations on memory usage, playback quality, and simultaneous polyphony as the real console, while avoiding any modern effects beyond the simple hardware reverberation heard in many SNES games.
